Frontline Worker Wellbeing Research Project
St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity works so that everyone has a safe place to call home. The Frontline Network, one of the Charity’s programmes, provides support to staff from the public, statutory and voluntary sectors working on the frontline with those experiencing homelessness.
Each year they hear from hundreds of frontline staff about their commitment to supporting people, how rewarding they find their work and more about the challenges they face.
Worryingly, last year’s annual survey showed that almost six out of ten frontline staff said that they felt that their role had a negative impact on their wellbeing.
Maintaining staff wellbeing is important to any employer, but sadly funding restraints in the public sector mean that measures cannot always be in place to provide the staff support needed. And we know that poor staff wellbeing impacts the people who are receiving support.
To better understand this, and to try and explore ways to remedy the situation, a research pilot project is being delivered by St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity in collaboration with the Centre for Homelessness Impact, What Works Centre for Wellbeing and the London School of Economics.
It would very helpful if you are a frontline worker in the homelessness sector and would be interested in participating. You can sign up here.
