General privacy notice

The Charter website is commissioned by the Greater London Authority (the Data Controller) and delivered by The Passage (the Data Processor).  

Read below the ways in which we collect personal information about you when you engage with the Charter website, and what the information may be used for. You have the right to request to see your personal data that we hold, and to request that we delete, update or correct it. If you want to exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

Information we may hold about you

Personal data: This is information such as name, address, telephone number, and email address.  We may collect this information from you when you engage with the Charter website, we do this for the purposes explained below.

Special category data:  This is information such as race, ethnic origin, political opinions, and health. We do not collect any special category data from website users.

How we use your information: We use personal information that you supply us for the purpose for which it was collected. The purposes depend on what each user signs up to and are; sending you information or the answer to a query if you contact us; sending you a newsletter if you indicate that you are happy to receive updates on the Charter; publishing any Pledge you make; adding to the total number of people who have signed up to the Charter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter and opt out of all contact at any time by emailing inbox@londoncharter.org.uk.

Legal basis: The legal basis for collecting and using your personal data in the ways detailed above is consent, this means that you have provided your explicit and informed consent to the collection and processing of your data at the time that you supplied it. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time, and you can do so by contacting inbox@londoncharter.org.uk

Cookies: The Charter website uses cookies to find out how people use our website in order to make improvements. Cookies are small text files which are placed on your hard drive to store information. Our cookies policy gives more information about what cookies are used, what information they collect, how and why we use them. The Passage will not sell, rent, distribute or otherwise make personal information available to any third party, except for the purposes described in this privacy policy or with your prior permission.

So, while we strive to protect such information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk. Changes to this privacy policy: The data controller reserves the right to remove or amend this privacy statement from time to time. If we decide to replace or change it, we will post a new policy or the changes to this privacy statement on this page and we encourage you to visit this page frequently to stay informed.
